Peek’n Peak resort will open for the season at 9:30am on Friday, November 29, 2013 with 3 chairlifts, 7 trails and 1 terrain park. This is the earliest date the resort has opened in 6 years.
“We are excited to be opening the resort almost a full month earlier than last year and are looking forward to a great season for the resort this year,” said Nick Scott Jr. Vice-President and owner of Scott Enterprises.
Recent cold temperatures have given snow makers the ability to make snow from over 100 guns for almost a week. Man-made snow combined with natural, early season snowfall has provided a 12-18” base (12” natural) for Black Friday skiing and snowboarding.
This season, Scott Enterprises has invested in 4 new SMI fan guns to improve snow-making capabilities and $150,000 in new ski and snowboard rental equipment. New technological upgrades to the ticketing and reservations system totaling over $400,000 will improve the guest experience and efficiency in reserving rooms, purchasing online tickets and on-premise ticket lines and processes. Renovations continue on the public spaces of the hotel.
