Murder charges filed in stabbing death of Cleveland store clerk | News
CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO)- A man has been indicted on murder and other charges for stabbing a clerk at a business. He died in the weeks after the crime.
Cuyahoga County Prosecutors just filed charges against Joel Velez.
He's accused of stabbing Mahmoud Hamad last December. Records show Velez lured Hamad out of a business at West 77th Street and Lorain in Cleveland asking for money. Then police say Velez stabbed the man three times.
Earlier, Velez had been indicted on felony assault charges, and now since the victim has died, more serious charges have been filed.
