HazMat called for strong fumes on Cleveland's west side | News
CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO)- HazMmat called to Cleveland's west side for a severe smell of gas in the area.
It happened around 10:45 a.m. on West 3rd Street at the Cleveland Water Department lift station.
The wet well collects raw sewage and rain water, but the problem started when someone dumped an unknown product into the system.
That unknown product is causing the fumes. Officials tell 19 Action News they do not pose a danger.
The Cleveland Fire Department will bring in a company to pump out the product, and are hoping it will be complete by late Friday afternoon.
